Track the progress of your deliveries in real time. This guide shows you how to create a company account at www.routesimply.com so that you can track driver productivity and performance history online, without having to give your drivers a call.

Running a well managed logistics operation means knowing exactly which deliveries were made and when. If a customer calls to dispute a delivery, you need to be able to prove that your drivers delivered their package safely and on time. Setting up a company account at www.routebasic.com only takes a few minutes and lets you do this and more.

Sign up for a new company account

The first step is to head to www.routebasic.com and click on the Sign Up link on the top right to create a new company account. Fill in your name, email address, company name, phone number and a secure password and hit the Sign Up button at the end of the form.

Download the RouteBasic free route planner app

Once your account is created, the next thing you need to do is to download the RouteBasic iOS and Android app (you can also search for "RouteBasic" on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store). Once you do that, open the app and register with your name and phone number. Be sure to include the country code e.g. +16041234567 so that your customers can reach you. Once you've registered, click the Settings tab on the bottom right to find your RouteBasic ID. The RouteBasic ID takes the form RID123456 and uniquely identifies your device.

Add driver

With RouteBasic ID in hand, click on the Drivers tab on the top navigation bar and select New Driver. Enter the name, phone number and RouteBasic ID of the app you just downloaded to link it to your company account.

Track delivery progress

Once a driver is added, you can start adding and optimizing stops on the driver app (for instructions on how to do this, read our quickstart guide).

After that, select the Shifts tab on the top navigation bar to bring up the Shift Listing page. By clicking on the + icon next to each shift, you'll be able to see a chronological list of pending, completed and failed stops for each driver, in addition to the customer name, address and payment information.

If you want to see more details about each stop, click the View button on the right side. This brings up the Stop Detail page where you can view additional information about the stop, including  photo proof of delivery and signature capture.
